ABOUT US
Empowering Abilities Together (E.A.T) was founded by Helen Grey, drawing on over 15 years’ experience in education, including 12 years as a Secondary Special Education teacher. Her work has always focused on supporting people through key life transitions into adulthood, employment, and community participation.

In 2019, Helen transitioned into the NDIS sector as a Specialist Support Coordinator, continuing this work in a practical and individualised way. While grounded in the NDIS, it became clear that many people outside the system faced the same challenges. In response, E.A.T has recently expanded to support people both within and beyond the NDIS.

As E.A.T evolved, so did its focus on real outcomes. In 2025, employment became a natural next step, leading to the development of Employment programs. Through hands-on experiences, strong local partnerships, and E.A.T’s own social enterprise food truck, participants build practical skills and genuine pathways into work.

E.A.T is a family-owned and run organisation, supported by Helen’s husband, Stacy Grey, an Army and SAS veteran, and their children. Shaped by more than 23 years as a Defence family, E.A.T understands change, rebuilding pathways, and the importance of connection and belonging.

At its core, E.A.T creates real opportunities to learn, work, and belong, with a strong focus on outcomes that make a genuine difference.

HELEN
- FOUNDER AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
A Special Education Teacher, and mother of 5 with a husband spanning 25 years Armed Services Helen knows a thing or two about juggling a busy life and competing urgent priorities.
No wonder she founded and started Empowering Abilities Together where the the vision was to provide the best possible care and coordination for NDIS participants.
Interesting fact – Helen was a super accomplished soccer player in her day which is a
family tradition deep from her father’s Scottish roots, who is still refereeing to this day!
